A number of bloggers periodically compile their writing into books and self-publish (some of which I myself have purchased). Given the quantity and quality of your output, perhaps this idea would be worthwhile for you.
Sorry to hear about the doxxing threat. That's a rotten to do, and protecting your family comes first. Take whatever time you need. I came for the history series and I'll happily wait for it at whatever pace works. All the best Serge.
"a journalist cold-called me and informed me of his intent to dox me."

If you know "his" name and the ID of whatever publication "he" uses as a venue? Please do share that information with us, your appreciative audience. It's always nice to reward such investigatory diligence with the attention it truly deserves, particularly if the form of that audience recognition is symmetrical with said investigator's intent.

(Also? Please do aggregate the historical pieces published here into book form & offer that for sale to us? I'd like a hard copy as insurance against "bit rot")
As a recovering history major I’ve really enjoyed the work. The depth of analysis is amazing and noteworthy. I’m sorry this happened to you, I’ll miss the articles but I understand why you are hitting pause. Take your time, the book idea mentioned by others really has legs.
I know how you feel - but your writing with its clarity has always inspired me. I keep going because I know that I have to otherwise the bastards will win. As long as I keep my bad temper, I know I'm still firing. I read dozens of substacks a day and always sieve them so that the ones I really need to soak myself in are given priority - yours always do. Thankyou.
Doxing should only ever happen to doxers or those whi call for doxing others themselves, it's an abhorrent practice which only depraved souls can relish . Thank you for sharing your insight, wealth of historical knowledge and unique prespective with all of us here. You can be proud of injecting some objectivity, clarity and balance over the loud clamor of emotionally-driven and partisan noise.
It pains me also about this Ukraine-Russian war. I am an American who married a lovely Russian women. My wife who was raised in Soviet era - Russia, her mother was Ukrainian and father was Russian. Her sister has lived in Ukraine, outside of Kiev, close to relatives, since mid 1980's. My wife has close contacts in both countries. Her sister and brother did not speak for around a year after the 2022 invasion. She had also had to tolerate a lot of abuse from her relatives in Ukraine during that period. Around 1990, Her sister convinced my wife when she was young and single, to not move to Ukraine because of the corruption! There is a long history there. I one time said something about these Banderas groups, my wife's eye opened wide and she said "My father hated those guys". Another time, I was lamenting about past things in the 2000's to 2014, why the America and NATO/Europe had to mess around in Ukraine so much - My wife looked at me and said bluntly "you know, there was a lot more money to be made from America than from Russia by these corrupt people in Ukraine". Damn, she is one smart cookie. I am not sure how this gets finally resolved. Way too much blood has been spilled.
Big Serge - live your full life. Hopefully we will see more of your writing. Take care of yourself and family first.
Big Serge hasn't followed the approved Western "script" when writing about a number of ongoing conflicts. And anything that gets his kind of traction in the infosphere needs to be bought out, co-opted, suborned, degraded or destroyed.
My first guess would be Myrotvorets, a Ukrainian site previously used to promote assassination of inconveniently truthful journalists.
He timed this move so to catch the proverbial two birds with one stone: the ‘dox’ allows him to finally include this blog as a big bullet point in his resume, and he also gets an excuse to stop posting regularly
It has been a pleasure reading and processing your deep dives into historical context, not just recitation of narratives. I will continue to watch for publication updates. Thank you for your dedication to providing a perspective that is often missing from the “ consensus opinion”.
Thanks greatly for all your hard work.

My idea as well. He should put together a dozen e-books and sell them on Amazon.
I'd buy that for a lot more than a dollar

Doesn't surprise me a bit. When people aligned with the hegemonic viewpoint do it, then thst makes it okay!
Have a good time. I liked your high quality output and will miss it for sure.

Your history series has been the most educational and outstanding writing series I've ever subscribed to in the past few years.
I'm sorry about the doxing. I will continue to read whatever you write.
Thank you!
A huge thank-you for all your historical essays which I've read with enjoyment, learning so much from your hard work!
Don't apologise for taking a break - we all understand, and I certainly know that inspiration will flow again after such a break.
Take care and keep safe!

Great work and thank you. The best compliment I can give is that your work rewards re-reading.
I'm not following the logic here: your data was released in a breach, and now a journalist is threatening you? For what purpose?
